Director of Creative Arts, programs and projects at the National Commission on Culture, Socrate Sarfo, has urged Ghanaians, especially the media to support Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to maintain their new found unity because it is real.
He made these comments as a panellist on Happy FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’ show with Dr. Cann.
‘’There is a saying that fake it to make it. I am not saying that is the situation between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy but I believe that their unity is real. Let us persuade and encourage them to keep the peace. Like Stonebwoy said, the media should educate them instead of fueling the feud,’’ he said.
‘’I don’t see why people are excited about preaching doom. Even if it is fake, let us encourage them to make it real. If a child doesn’t want to shower, as an adult you have to persuade him to shower. As a people, let’s do same in their case,’’ he disclosed.
However, it looks like the trolling between the fan base of both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on social media rages on unabated in spite of the unity kiss Shatta Wale bestowed on Stonebwoy at the recent peace conference.
Meanwhile, some section of the Ghanaian public are pessimistic about the newfound unity between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Perhaps, the saying that a pessimist is an optimist with experience, stands true in this case because, both artistes have tried reconciling before when Shatta Wale mounted the ‘Ashaiman to the world’ concert stage to perform. Only for the two artistes to go back to insults and throwing shots at each other.
However, plans are underway for the two Dancehall giants to hold a unity concert.
