An Ak47 rifle, ammunition and other police properties have been stolen from the Sewhi Asafo Police Station in the Sewhi Wiaso Municipality of the Western North Region by suspected armed robbers.
The suspected armed robbers allegedly broke into an iron railed window to gain access.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspected robbers were highly organised and possibly familiar with the station’s security layout.
Police officers on duty at the time of the attack were reportedly caught off guard.
The suspected armed robbers targeted the residence of a Catholic priest following the attack with images suggesting that the robbers fired shots at the scene.
The Inspector in charge at the Sewhi Asafo station has been interdicted while investigations continue.
