The Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC and a member of the Manifesto Sub Committee, Amos Blessing, has praised the party’s youth leadership for developing a dedicated manifesto to tackle the issues facing young people in the country.

He highlighted that the youth, who represent a significant portion of the population, often face challenges that are frequently overlooked.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will today, August 12, 2024 launch the youth-centered manifesto in a ceremony at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

This event is part of the activities to celebrate the 2024 International Youth Day on August 12.

Speaking ahead of the launch Amos Blessing commended the party’s youth leadership for this initiative, emphasizing that this is a historic first for Ghana.

He pointed out that, for the first time since 1992, a political party is releasing a youth manifesto separate from the main party manifesto.

He stressed that political party manifestos always feature a single prominent policy that overshadows others, such as the 24-hour economy initiative.

This often means that other important issues within the manifesto do not receive the attention they deserve.

He emphasized that the decision by John Dramani Mahama, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and other party executives to launch a separate youth manifesto reflects their genuine commitment to addressing the needs of young people.

He noted that not every political party allows for a distinct youth manifesto separate from the main party manifesto, underscoring how Mahama and his running mate are dedicated to tackling youth issues.

“For His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and our National Chairman other the party executives to even agree that we should have a youth manifesto lunch should tell you how they have the needs of the youth at heart. It is not every political party that the leadership will allow them to have a youth manifesto separate from the main manifesto.
It tells you again how His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and Prof. Naana Jane wants to address the needs of the you,” he stressed.
