Securing promotion to the betPawa GPL didn’t come easy - Nations FC

Brands and Promotions Manager of newly promoted side, Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has admitted that Nations FC faced tough competition in their quest to secure promotion to next season’s betPawa Ghana Premier League.

Nations FC staged a dramatic comeback win over WAFA in the Division One League zone two match-week 28 games to confirm their promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Following the 3-2 win over WAFA, Nations FC finished as winners of the Division One League zone two and have qualified to play in the Ghana Premier League next season with two games to end the 2022/23 season.

They currently occupy the top spot with 69 points while second-place team Skyy FC are with 57 points with two remaining fixtures to end the season.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, Kennedy Ansah attributed their success this season to consistent hard work from both the technical team and the playing body of the club.

“It has been a difficult season looking at the caliber of teams we had in our Zone. God helped us to get to where we are at the moment which is securing promotion to next season’s betPawa Premier League. It was the wisest decision to go back for Nations FC to go back for our former coach, Johnson Smith who has led us here”.

Nations FC have joined the Ghana Premier League with Heart of Lions, who finished as Zone Three champions.
