Sarkodie

From all indications, it’s obvious that rapper Sarkodie is finding it difficult to understand why Ghana is blessed with abundant natural resources but majority of the citizens are plagued by poverty.

As a result, the rapper in the past has released a form of “diss” or otherwise advice vibes purposely to put sense in the minds of Ghanaians in authority especially the politicians but it’s unfortunate that no better results have been achieved.

It could be recalled that Sarkodie in the year 2014 released a song titled “Inflation” during the reign of formal president John Dramani Mahama. In the song, the SarkCess Music CEO lamented the erratic power supply in the country, the continuous depreciation of the Ghanaian Cedi and increased rate of corruption within government.

A year after the “Inflation” song, Sarkodie came in stronger with another hot song titled “The Masses” to address issues of national concern. Per the lyrical content of “The Masses”, the BET award-winner did not only lash at the politicians but the youths for their failure to vote a candidate with good policies into power.

Regardless of the above-mentioned “diss” songs from the camp of Sarkodie purposely to put sense in the minds of Ghanaians in authority especially the politicians, it looks like things remain the same. Simply put, those in authority especially the politicians keep messing the Ghanaian economy.

It’s in the light of the failure of Ghanaian politicians to do the needful that Sarkodie has hinted that he needs to meet the incumbent president (Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo) sooner than later for comprehensive talks else another “diss” song will follow shortly.

The Tema-based rapper who sounded disappointed per his post on the micro blogging platform, Twitter voiced that; “I need one on one with the president and people in power to have a convo on the economy if there’s a long-term plan that’s causing the hardship now or things are hard for no reason… else inflation x Masses Part 2.”

So, in the few days to come Akuffo-Addo should invite Sarkodie like Shatta Wale’s else it’s probable that a “diss” or otherwise advice song from the camp of Ghana’s finest contemporary rapper will take over the airwaves sooner than later.
