Sarkodie earns over GH¢ 3billion from Adonai video on YouTube

After about six years of releasing his super hit song Adonai, which featured the late Castro, Ghana’s biggest rapper, Sarkodie has reached over seventy million views on YouTube with his song. Now let’s see how much YouTube will or probably, has already paid for that.

Per research, if a Youtube channel hits a thousand views, that is worth $18. Google then takes 45% of that, leaving the YouTuber with $9.99, approximately $10.

If 1K(1000views) is equal to 10USD, then 1M views, which is equivalent to 1000K, will receive a payment of 10,000US dollars. Now if Sarkodie has hit 70million views, then 7000K multiplied by 10USD, will make a total of 70,000dollars.

Let’s not forget to translate that into our local Ghanaian currency. $70,000 converted to the Ghanaian cedi, amounts to GHC388794.14, that is, three-hundred and eighty-eight million, seven hundred and ninety-four Ghana cedis.

GHC388,794.14 in our old currency, makes over 3billion Ghana cedis and that is a rough estimation of how much Sark is making from that record, not forgetting he has already been bagging cash from ‘Adonai’ since his views hit the thousands.

That sure is a lot of money to be making aside all that he keeps bagging from his live shows and song features, and his entrepreneurial jobs.
Now I am totally dying to know the type of contract he had with Castro on that song. Does Castro’s management have right to demand a percentage share in all that money?
