Samuel Owusu opens up on being racially abused in Serbia

Ghana and Al-Fayah Star Samuel Owusu says he has been a victim of racial abuse during his time in Serbia.

The 24-year-old spent four seasons in Serbia where he played for Radnik and Cukaricki before leaving to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Fayah FC.

The Black Stars midfielder was speaking in an interview with his youth club Vision FC where he disclosed that he had to endure the stigma following those unfortunate incident.

“It was an unpleasant experience and you need mental strength to overcome it – said the former first team player of Cukaricki and Radnik”, he said in an interview.

Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has called on footballers to join the fight against racism.

Racism has been a subject of discussion in recent weeks following the death of a Black American George Floyd who was killed by an white cop who had his knee to his neck for eight minutes.
