National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has tasked supporters of the NDC to be “EXTRA-VIGILANT”.
His call to action follows the swift action of the Ghana Police Service in dismantling a ballot paper thumb printing syndicate in Pokuase.
The gang which was operating at the Royal N hotel in Pokuase Amanfrom was busted after the police received a tip off on their activities.
It is alleged that, the suspects had in their possession several ballot papers and were thumb printing them for the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and parliamentary candidates for the Amasaman and Trobu constituencies.
The police retrieved laptops, cash, a BDV machine and printers in their possession.
In a post on his official X handle, Sammy Gyamfi said, “These miscreants had in their possession thumb-printed ballot papers for Bawumia, the NPP candidate for Amasaman, Yahaya Kassim and NPP candidate for Trobu, Gloria Owusu. They have been arrested and detained at the Pokuase Police station.”
He disclosed this was not an isolated incident and charged NDC supporters, “especially polling agents” to be extra vigilant.
