Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has warned Wontumi TV about the potential revocation of its broadcasting license due to alleged voter misinformation.

The Electoral commission and other state bodies have debunked these claims.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Sam George accused the station of consistently spreading false information to mislead voters, describing the act as “calculated, deliberate, malicious, ill-intended, evil, and wicked.”

He highlighted that these acts go against the guidelines which are enlisted within the licensing provided by the National Communications Authority Ghana.

Sam George in his right as a Deputy Ranking Member for the Select Committee on Communications for the Parliament of Ghana alerts the management of the said television station to be brought into the light of the consequences of such actions to be handled accordingly. “As Deputy Ranking Member for the Select Committee on Communications for the Parliament of Ghana, I wish to remind you of your responsibilities under the terms of your license and remind you that in the near future, the consequences of your actions would be handled accordingly.”
