Salam Mustapha accuses Prof. Gyampo of disenfranchising students with strike

The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has accused professor Ransford Gyampo and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of disenfranchising students with the ongoing UTAG strike.

According to a statement by the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, information gathered revealed that, Prof. Ransford Gyampo is in cahoots with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to deny tens of thousands of Ghanaian students their right to vote in the December polls.

The statement added that, “by this strike action, Prof. Gyampo and the UTAG executives aligned with him do not mean well for the students of Ghana. The TUC, the mother union of all organised labour, after discussions with Government over the campaign to protect our forests and water bodies against the menace of illegal and irresponsible mining, decided to abandon the collective decision to embark on a nationwide strike”.

Salam Mustapha further quizzed about the rationale behind the strike as he believes, the strike is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise innocent students of their right to vote in the December 7th elections.

“The strike serves only two purposes now, to disturb the academic time table of the students and to stop them from voting on December 7”.
