S.E.F pays courtesy call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malta

The National Executive leadership of Service Excellence Foundation under the auspices of the Ghana Tourism Federation in Partnership with Ghana Tourism Authority, Ministry of Tourism Art and Culture paid an official Courtesy Call to H.E BARBARA AKUOKOR BENISSA who is Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malta at her residents in Accra.

The delegation was led by Madam Stella Appenteng, former president of the Ghana Tourism Federation who first thanked H.E for honoring their invitation to the 1st National Tourism Customer Service Week media launch recently held at Labadi Beach Hotel. She further stated that, the Foundation intends to develop a strategic collaboration and working partnership with her office in promoting the Customer Service Excellence Agenda within the Tourism and Hospitality Sector which includes allied partners within the value chain in Ghana.

In her response, Madam Benisa promised the Foundation her commitment to promoting Ghana and the Customer Service Excellence agenda, adding that this national initiatives needs the support of all Ghanaians and stakeholders. She also referred to the “YEAR OF RETURN” where many visitors from the diasporan regions to Ghana raise some level of concerns related to customer service delivery in Ghana which in her opinion needs serious attention from the industry players. This project she said has come at the right time to address some of these challenges.

Mr. Caleb Kofie, who is the Excutive Director of Service Excellence Foundation applauded Her Excellency Madam Benisa and added that her support in promoting Customer Service Excellence in Ghana will continue to serve as the needed inspiration especially among the Youth Population in Ghana.

H. E. recounts her days as an employee with KLM where she offered an Excellent Customer Service to numerous clients which included the late Ex. President Jerry John Rawlings and his team during one of their official travels abroad many years ago for a business conference, and since then his entire family and friends have been regular customers of KLM thus, stressing the need for business organisations to provide not just Good but Exceptional services to customers

In another development on the same day, the delegation also paid a Courtesy call to the President of Ghana Hotels Association, Dr. Edward Ackah-Nyamike Jnr, who in his statement pledged that, his office will provide full support to the National Tourism Customer Service Week initiatives. He alluded that, already the Greater Accra Branch of Ghana Hotels Association has instituted a committee chaired by Mr. Benjamin Afunya who is the Chairman of the Accra branch to oversee to the participation and celebration of the Customer Service week event by member Hotels in Greater and other regions.

The 1st Ghana National Customer Service week which is in line with Global Customer Service week is scheduled from 4th – 8th October 2021.The objective of this event is to Appreciate and Celebrate Gallant Industry Employees and Customers across all sectors of the Economy in Ghana for their unique contributions to industry growth
