A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh says he has a new found respect for Dr. Zanetor Rawlings after she called on the party to re-accept her mother, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings as a member of the NDC.
Supporting the young legislator, he described her call as matured and believes it is about time that decision was taken by both the party and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
“I think the call from Zanetor is a matured one and in order. I think what she said is food for thought and the party leadership should listen to her and resolve the situation.
Similar situations have happened and if Konadu is remorseful and wants to come back to the party then why not. She formed the party with her husband and other leaders, and if she wants to come back, then this is not something she should think about a lot.”
He believes families agree to disagree and noted the NDC as such a family.
“I think this is a matured call and Zenator has made an incisve appeal to the party and must be heard by party leaders for a smooth transition. Konadu should return and rejoin the group she was a founding member of,” he told Don Kwabena Prah on Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben political talk show.
With the believe that numbers make or unmake a political party, Yamaoh Ponkoh enjoined all persons who left the NDC with her to return with her.
The politician argues the decision of Konadu Rawlings to return to the NDC is a sign the party will win the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. “We will win the 2024 elections and make things better for Ghanaians. We will revive the economy and resolve insecurity in the nation.
