A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Ibrahim Ali has urged NDC supporters to remain patient as President John Dramani Mahama continues with his appointments, assuring them that their turn will come.
Ali’s remarks follow a protest by some NDC youth at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. The youth had demanded appointments from President Mahama, citing their efforts in securing the party’s victory.
In an interview with Bismark Brown on Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show, Ali acknowledged that it is common for party members to feel anxious when appointments are being made, especially when they or their loved ones are not yet chosen. He pointed out that this situation is typical in both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Ali explained that President Mahama is currently focusing on appointments at the ministry level, which will gradually come down to the various Municipal, Metropolitan and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). He reassured the youth that appointments will be made in stages, starting from the top and moving toward the grassroots.
Ali mentioned that as a communicator himself he is also awaiting an appointment, but has yet to receive any word, urging the youth to stay calm and be patient.
