The Black Stars hope of qualifying for Russia 2018 ended last Saturday after the team’s 0-0 draw and Egypt’s victory over Congo but South African referee Daniel Bennett stole the headlines.
Raphael Dwamena scored a 93rd goal but FIFA Referee Daniel Bennett from South Africa ruled it offside goal but the deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide thinks, it was a perfect goal and the referee did not act professionally by disallowing Ghana’s late goal.
“I felt that the referee didn’t exercise restraint and diligence and in my view he acted unprofessionally by disallowing what in my estimation were two clear goals and a penalty was not awarded”
“I am not a referee but my law assessment of the game indicates to me that, the last goal couldn’t have been an offside goal ”
