The way and manner in which Aisha Huang managed to return to Ghana after her deportation without security agencies realizing, has been described as humiliating by Andy Kankam, Editor of the Informer Newspaper.
He labelled the development as a huge intelligence failure causing confusion and fear amongst the Ghanaian populace.
Aisha Huang is a Chinese national who became notorious for her involvement in illegal small-scale mining [galamsey], and was deported in 2018 after the state discontinued a case against her. However, she has been arrested after re-entering and doing in business in Ghana under the name, En Huang.
The government spokesperson on security and governance, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah says En ‘Aisha’ Huang, entered Ghana through an approved Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) check point with forged documents.
He said Aisha Huang entered Ghana just a few weeks ago per his security briefing.
Reports from the GIS also say Aisha Huang re-entered Ghana through an unapproved route.
Speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Editors’ Take Edition of the ‘Happy Morning Show’, Andy Kankam said, “I am super confused with this development and I deem it a huge intelligence failure. The Immigration Service and National Intelligence are a saying different things so who do we believe?”
According to Andy Kankam, this level of intelligence failure is an embarrassment to President Akufo-Addo and also a sign Ghanaians are not safe in their own country.
