Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Spokesperson, Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed to Happy Sports that the process to select the next Technical Director for the GFA will begin next week.
The GFA opened bid for persons to apply for the vacant position, and Happy Sports understands that the FA has received a lot of applications from both domestic and abroad.
Some of the notable names to have applied for the position are Bashiru Hayford and Marcel Diesselley.
Speaking on Wamputu Sports on Happy FM, on the selection criteria and process for the next technical director, he said, “we wanted everything to be transparent so we opened it to the public for people to apply”.
“As of now we haven’t selected anybody to replace Oti Akenteng. We have received a lot of applications, both domestic and abroad. Next week the Executive Council will meet and do a short list of the applicants”, he told Happy FM.
He added that Francis Oti Akenteng was not sacked as being speculated in the media.
“We didn’t sack Oti Akenteng but his contract came to an end”.
The GFA may result to a head hunt if they want a qualified person for the position.
