
President John Mahama is expected to hold his first cabinet meeting in Accra after his trip to Germany.
His first cabinet meeting will focus on his administration’s ambitious plan to address Ghana’s pressing economic challenges and infrastructure deficiencies.
“I shall hold my first cabinet meeting as soon as I return to Accra and we shall begin processes to audit the real state of the economy and what needs to be done immediately to pave way for investments”
President Mahama in an address at the AU summit, emphasized the importance of building a broad consensus on fiscal consolidation and necessary austerity measures.
“We shall build a consensus on fiscal consolidation and austerity measures we need to take to reset the economy. This will involve all key stakeholders, experts, labour unions, civil society organizations, business representatives, students, ordinary Ghanaians at a National Economic Dialogue to be organized”.
The proposed National Economic Dialogue aims to foster collaboration among various sectors of society, ensuring that the economic transformation plan is inclusive and comprehensive. By engaging all stakeholders, the President hopes to develop sustainable solutions that will drive long-term economic stability and growth.
