The Office of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced a six-member Interim National Security Coordinating Team to oversee and coordinate national security issues pending substantive appointments under his administration, which begins on January 7, 2025.
The announcement, made in a press release dated Thursday, January 3, 2025, stated that Former Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, will lead the team.
The release, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to the President-Elect, named other members of the team as Former Chief of Defence Staff Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), Former Minister for National Security Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Former National Security Coordinator Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrisu (Rtd.), and COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.).
