The Ghana Police Service has interdicted Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, over allegations of professional misconduct.
This decision comes in response to a viral video circulating online, which shows the officer assaulting a member of the public.
In accordance with the Police Service Regulations, the interdiction aims to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the officer’s actions.
In a brief statement released on Friday November 22, the Police Service disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has personally contacted the victim’s family, offering the Service’s support and assurances.
Also, the IGP has instructed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work closely with the family to ensure the matter is handled appropriately.
