The Ghana Police Service has introduced additional measures to maintain peace, security, law, and order in the post-election period.
In a recent press release the police noted that this initiative aims to ensure stability as the nation transitions from the election phase and addresses any potential incidents that may occur.
Some of the measures put in place towards safety and security include: Increasing visibility through joint patrols with other security agencies, Deploying static security personnel at targeted state facilities and many others.
“89 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with various offenses during the election period. 40 of them are directly connected to the acts of vandalism, looting and destruction of properties. All the suspects will be put before court to face justice” parts of the statement read.
The police service cautioned the public to desist from acts of violence since perpetrators will be arrested and taken through the due process of the law.
