The Divisional Commander of Police for the Mfantseman constituency, (ACP) Owuahene Adjei Acheampong has hinted that the police has made strides as more suspects have been picked to help with the investigations into the murder of the Mfantseman MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

Speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, he said: “We are still picking more people and have not confirmed the role all of them played in the murder yet. And we envisage we will pick up more people. Some have been picked and we need to find the others and help catch them”.

The Divisional Commander made known that already, five suspects have been picked up and are aiding in the investigations of the slain MP.

The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Mr Ekow Kwansah Hayford was shot dead by unknown assailants while returning from a campaign tour on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region at about 1am on Friday, October 9, 2020.

The Ghana Police Service announced that it has arrested five persons in connection with the murder of the MP for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

In a Twitter post, the police stated that the suspects are being taken through lawful police procedure to acquire more information about the murder and in due time further updates will be given.

In the meantime, the GH 20,000.00 bounty to be given to the person or people who are willing to give accurate and detailed information about the murder of the MP still holds.
