The Ghana Police Service has dismissed media reports alleging that voting activities were taking place at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in Abeka, located in the Okaikwei Central Constituency.
The reports claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters had stormed the office over suspicions of voting at the location. However, police investigations revealed that the office is not a polling station and no voting is being conducted there.
In a statement, the Police urged the public to disregard these claims, emphasizing the importance of avoiding misinformation and disinformation, particularly during this critical period.
“We urge the public to partner with the Police as we work towards avoiding misinformation and disinformation during this critical time and beyond,” the statement read.
The Police Service reassured citizens of its commitment to maintaining order and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
