Police declare Oliver Vormawor wanted after disruptive actions at Democracy Hub Protest

The Ghana Police Service has declared Oliver Vormawor, a leader of the Democracy Hub group, wanted for his involvement in unlawful activities during a protest at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.

In a statement, the police confirmed that a manhunt is underway to apprehend Vormawor and others involved in acts of lawlessness, which included blocking roads, toppling police barriers, and obstructing traffic.

Initially centered on economic concerns, the protest unexpectedly shifted focus and was rebranded as an anti-galamsey (illegal mining) demonstration.

In a viral video, Vormawor was seen removing a key from a police vehicle and throwing it away before fleeing the scene. Another video showed him toppling police barricades without any provocation.
