The Ghana Police Service has debunked claims that, there was some electoral disturbance at Nsawam Adoagyiri following the announcement of the recollated results today, Saturday December 21, 2024.
According to the police, the viral video circulating on social media showing some individuals allegedly registering their displeasure about the collation exercise is absolutely false.
A statement by the police indicates that, there were no incidents of road blocks or setting fires on public roads at Nsawam Adoagyiri as displayed in the video.
The statement further mentioned that, the blocking of roads and setting of fires on public roads were incidents that were reported on December 8, 2024, which according to them, is under investigation.
The police has however urged the public to disregard such claims as they are false.
“The Police further urge the general public to remain calm since there is adequate deployment of security personnel in and around Nsawam Adoagyiri to ensure maintenance of law and order”, the statement added.

The Ghana Police Service has noted a viral video showing individuals allegedly registering their displeasure about the collation exercise in Accra by the Electoral Commission (EC) today, 21st December 2024, by blocking and setting fires on public roads at Nsawam Adoagyiri.
We wish to state that the claim is false and has no correlation with today’s collation exercise in Accra.
The said incident is a reported case under investigation which occurred on 8th December 2024.
We, therefore, urge the public to disregard the false claim.
The Police further urge the general public to remain calm since there is adequate deployment of security personnel in and around Nsawam Adoagyiri to ensure maintenance of law and order.
