The Ghana Police Service has reassured the public of robust security measures in place to maintain peace, safety, and law enforcement as the country ushers in the new year.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the police expressed their appreciation for the support and cooperation of Ghanaians, which has contributed to the peaceful atmosphere throughout the year.

With the festive season and the celebrations marking the transition into 2025, the police have intensified security protocols to safeguard lives and property. Residential and highway patrols have been enhanced, ensuring public safety during this busy period. Traffic Police officers have been strategically deployed at key intersections and public roads to manage vehicular movement and enforce traffic regulations, particularly in areas where large crowds are expected at social, entertainment, and religious events.

The police further assured that security would be provided at faith-based events and social gatherings nationwide, ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for all participants. Additionally, they emphasized their commitment to protecting vital infrastructure throughout the country to prevent any security breaches or disruptions.

In their statement, the police also urged the public, particularly faith-based organizations, to be cautious of misinformation or disinformation that could incite fear or panic during this period. They warned against the circulation of prophecies that could endanger lives and undermine the country’s security.
