
The Ghana Police service has arrested four students of the Christian Methodist SHS following violent clashes between the students and residents of New Aplaku in the GA South Municipality of the Greater Region.
The students are said to have assaulted a colleague over mobile phone theft.
The incident occurred on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, the accused student was chased out of the campus by his colleagues until he found refuge at a nearby shop.
The students continued to pursue the accused in the shop and caused damage in the process.
One resident was stabbed in the eye when the students went on rampage.
The issue escalated in the early hours of friday, February 28, 2025.
The students reportedly launched another attack with weapons on residents. Two people, including a student of Christian Methodist Senior High, sustained serious injuries.
A Joint Military/Police force have been deployed to the school to maintain law and order after some residents attempted to retaliate.
