The People’s National Convention (PNC) has disclosed that its manifesto ahead of the December 7 polls will be outdoored in two weeks.
According to the party, they started putting together their manifesto long before they held their primaries.
The flag bearer of the PNC, David Apesera made this known in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Samuel Eshun, host of the Happy Morning Show.
He said, “We’re giving ourselves two (2) weeks to launch our manifesto. We already have our committee and we will get it done because everyone is being brought onboard to make this possible. We first spoke of free SHS, the school feeding programme and all these have been implemented by other parties and we have a lot more policies to bring on board.”
The presidential aspirant revealed that his party started drawing up their manifesto last year and furthered that they (PNC) will just have to fine tune their policies. “This will not be difficult”.
The politician however let it slip that the PNC will look at conscientizing the youth on patriotism should they be given the reins of power. “No nation develops without patriotism, hard work and integrity. And these are some of the things we will bring on board. We will orient the youth and with this as part of their everyday lives, Ghana will develop”.
David Apesera motioned that former Flag bearer of the party, Dr. Edward Mahama and immediate past Chairperson of the party, Bernard Mornah, were all members of the PNC’s manifesto committee. He however added that the committee is yet to settle on a theme for the manifesto.
The PNC held its congress on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, to elect its flag bearer for the 2020 presidential election and national executive officers to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
David Apesera won the flag bearer position with 1,315 votes as against Sampson Awingobit’s 789 votes and Rev Samuel Adjei-Debrah’s 465.
For the National Chairman slot, Bernard Mornah got 1,266 votes as against Moses Dani Baah’s 1.297 votes.
