PNC finalizes nominations, prepares for vetting of aspirants for upcoming congress

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has officially concluded the nomination process for individuals seeking to be elected to various positions at the upcoming Congress on Saturday, setting the stage for the vetting of candidates.

The opposition party has scheduled Thursday and Friday for the vetting of 17 aspirants who have submitted their applications.

According to a statement from the party’s Congress Committee, the candidates have been divided into two groups for the vetting process.

The first group will be vetted between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Thursday, while the second group will undergo the same process at the same time on Friday.

Among the prominent candidates who have filed for the elections are Bernard Anbataayela Mornah and David Apasera, both of whom are competing for the position of flagbearer.

For the Chairmanship, Hajia Hajara Ali and Asaki Awingobit have submitted their forms and will be vetted accordingly.

The race for the General Secretary position will feature Awudu Ishak and Yakubu Fahrudeen, both vying to manage the party’s administrative duties.

Additionally, Abass Nuhu and Daniel Nii Noi Osekine are contesting for the role of National Organiser, with the aim of bolstering the party’s grassroots mobilization. The Women’s Organiser position will see Christiana Fugah and Esther Osei competing.
