The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in line with measures outlined by the government to limit the spread of the coronavirus in Ghana had disinfected market places in Accra.
The exercise was carried out across various markets in the country.

From Circle Odaw lorry station, Mallam Atta market in the Ayawaso Central Constituency, Agbogbloshie to the Abossy Okine and Dansoman market in the Ablekuma Central Constituency, 10 sprayers were each assigned to disinfect the facilities with Chlorine Dioxide and Sodium Hypochlorite.
However, the streets of Accra turns ghost town as the activity [disinfection] also had an effect on transportation.
Many drivers who operate within terminals located in the markets could not operate.
Yesterday, three more persons tested positive for coronavirus, bringing Ghana’s total number of confirmed cases to 24.
This was confirmed on the official website of the Ghana Health Service.

Out of the 24, a Lebanese national who was a resident in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi died from the virus in the early hours of Saturday, March 21, 2020.
