Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, on Thursday March 28, took its programming to the doorsteps of its listeners at the Neoplan Station in Accra.
The activation dubbed ‘Happy on Wheels’, turned out to be successful and interactive as listeners at the Neoplan Station and around Kwame Nkrumah Circle got involved in the entire production.
On Happy FM’s ‘Nsem Pii’ show, the crew were privileged to have students from the Akropong School for the blind perform worship songs during the show’s Live Worship segment.
It was indeed a massive performance as people were really moved with fullness of the Holy Spirit .
In an interview with Happy FM, Benjamin Boateng, the coordinator and instructor of the music department of the school appealed for support from the public to sponsor the school’s upcoming 75th anniversary celebration. He also called on Ghanaians to help the school build their music department block.
“Our appeal is that everyone will support the school in anyway they can, especially in building our music department. People should also show respect to persons with disabilities because disability is not inability,” he said.
“Don’t lock your child in the room because he or she is disabled. Disability is no respecter of age or status. It can happen to anyone,” he added.
The visually impaired students took turns to thrill drivers, traders and passengers of Neoplan Station with amazing live worship.
Some listeners who spoke to Happy FM confessed that they never knew visually impaired students of the Akropong School for the Blind were such talented singers and instrumentalists.
