Head of Public Affairs at the West African Examinations Council, John Kapi has hinted that some pending BECE results are expected to be cancelled due to suspected examination malpractices.
According to him, 99% of the BECE results have been released while the rest are still under assessment over alleged malpractices.
He emphasized that their assessment over the remaining results indicate that some of the candidates cheated during the exams.
“About 99% of the BECE results have been released though but the rest of the results which are still with us, most of them would be cancelled based on the evidence before us and it makes us believe that the candidates engaged in examination malpractices”.
John Kapi stressed that some teachers and invigilators assisted the candidates to engage in the act and 19 invigilators who were teachers were arrested and dismissed from the teaching profession for assisting the candidates.
