Parliament is scheduled to reconvene today, September 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., following an emergency recall by Speaker Alban Bagbin.

This recall came in response to a petition from Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who raised concern about the Speaker’s decision to adjourn the previous session indefinitely on July 30, 2024.

The emergency session will focus on several key issues, including a Financing Agreement between the Government of Ghana and the International Development Association, requests for tax exemptions relating to the One District, One Factory Programme, and matters concerning the Ghana Financial Stability Fund.

Additionally, the agenda includes the consideration of several bills.

Because repairs to the main chamber of the 9th Parliament are still underway, Speaker Alban Bagbin has chosen the Dome at the International Conference Centre as the venue for today’s sitting.

The repairs are expected to remain unfinished by the time of the recall.
