Parliament has approved a budget allocation under the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for Members of Parliament.
Each MP will receive GHC250,000 to undertake education-related projects in their constituencies.
In addition, an extra GHC150,000 has been assigned to support MPs in monitoring and supervising the implementation of these initiatives.
According to the Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the decision reflects the challenges MPs often face in addressing the educational needs within their communities.
During deliberations, the GETFund administrator and the Minister of Finance agreed to increase the project funds based on recommendations from Parliament.
This adjustment aims to align resources with the growing demands for educational improvements across the country.
