Otto Addo maintained as Black Stars coach, GFA appoints new technical advisor and director of football

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revamped the Black Stars technical team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.

 

The GFA despite the calls for the sacking of Otto Addo has retained the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach while appointing 2002 AFCON winner Anton Schafer to assist him as the technical advisor and director of football.

While Otto Addo and Joseph Paintsil have been maintained, first assistant coach Joseph Laumann has been replaced by the head coach of Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei.

Kris Perquy, an experienced Sports Psychologist with 17 years’ experience, takes up the mantle of Psychologist of the team while The Video Analysis Unit of the team will be headed by Belgian Video Analyst Gregory De Grauwe.

Issah Amadou of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak’s Abdul Rahman Alhassan have also been named to the team as Equipment Officers.
