Osei Palmer shouldn’t have appealed the case at CAS- Dr Kofi Amoah

Dr. Kofi Amoah

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Normalisation Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah says he was saddened by Wilfred Osei Kwaku’s decision to appeal his disqualification from last year’s FA presidential elections at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

According to Kofi Amoah, the NC had followed strictly the regulations of the GFA to disqualify Osei Palmer from contesting the elections last year.

Palmer was disqualified for failing to pay a 10 per cent player transfer fee to the GFA and also his comments on unclassified payments thus his decision to appeal the case at CAS.

CAS ruled on the matter by dismissing the appeals made by the Tema Youth bankroller which Dr Kofi Amoah said it gives credence to the decision by the Normalisation Committee to disqualify the former GFA Executive Council member.

“For a member of the GFA to go to CAS with such a decision is very sad”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports on Happy 98.9FM.

“This is bigger than vindication. We must not allow the significance of this case be lost on us. Laws are made to ensure discipline, order and to protect the integrity of the game”

Dr Kofi Amoah also implored the GFA Club Licensing Board to enforce the Club Licensing rules to its later which can be the only way to develop football in the country.
