Deputy Minority leader and MP for Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region, Patricia Appiagyei has stated that the Operation Recover All Loot committee(ORAL) set up by President John Dramani Mahama is illegal and unconstitutional.

Addressing the media in Parliament the deputy leader indicated that, ORAL has motivated party thugs to vandalize public properties and attack former appointees.

She emphasized that the presidential transition Act 2012 is clear about the mandate of a President-Elect and it is to prepare for the smooth and orderly assumption of office but President Mahama went contrary to it and did things like constituting ORAL

She further stated that, the establishment of the ORAL Committee even before the president was sworn in is neither here nor there.

The Asokwa legislature added that there are various institutions which ensure that government properties are protected and also any one who captures state properties is prosecuted so there is no point in the establishment of any other committee in that regard.

She added that, by setting up such an unconstitutional body it clearly indicates that, the President has given the green light to his supporters to ignore due process and to intimidate public officials.

She identified various offices being attacked by the thugs like Metropolitan ,Municipal and District Assembly offices. She urged President Mahama to call his supporters to order adding that Ghana is not a revolutionary State but a Constitutional Democracy State
