ORAL: Anti-corruption initiative will be fair, evidence-driven, and protective of whistleblowers- Ablakwa assures

Chairman of the “Operation Recover All the Loot” initiative, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has reassured Ghanaians that the ongoing efforts to tackle corruption within government institutions will not be marred by political witch-hunting.

He emphasized that the initiative is rooted in evidence-based investigations and a firm commitment to justice.

Mr. Ablakwa acknowledged that many Ghanaians are hesitant to report corrupt activities due to fear of retaliation, which has allowed such practices to persist. He highlighted that the incoming administration is fostering an environment that supports whistleblowers by ensuring their safety and protection.

He encouraged citizens to share crucial information, assuring that it would be handled responsibly and not disregarded.

Criticizing previous administrations for their lack of accountability, he accused them of enabling corruption by creating systems that shield wrongdoers, labeling some as mere “clearing agents” rather than enforcers of transparency.

Mr. Ablakwa dismissed allegations of political bias in the initiative, affirming that only cases backed by solid evidence will be pursued, and anyone found engaging in unfair practices will be held accountable.

He expressed confidence that the initiative’s outcomes will withstand scrutiny and ultimately advance the nation’s interests.
