President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to upholding Ghana’s Traditional Family Values.
Speaking at the maiden President Mahama Fellowship with the Clergy at the Accra International Conference Center on Friday February 28, 2025, he emphasized his belief in the existence of only two genders, that is man and woman, and that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
“As a Christian, I uphold the principle and the values that only two genders exist: man and woman, and that a marriage is between a man and a woman”.
He further revealed that he has engaged in discussions with the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin to ensure that the renewal of the expired Proper Family Values Bill is introduced by the government rather than as a Private Members Motion.
“It is my hope that the consultation will see a renewed Proper Family Values Bill,” he emphasized.
He further announced his plans to initiate consultations through the Minister of Local Government and Religious Affairs to set up a planning committee for the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.
