Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to establish modern market places in all the 275 districts when voted into power in the December 7 elections.
According to the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, building modern market places is to empower women, who are a critical pillar in Ghana’s economy.
He said he wants to help market women and as part of his two main policies ahead of the December 7 elections, Dr. Bawumia said there has to be a modern market for every district lacking such infrastructure.
“I want to help market women in this country and there should be a, market if you want to help market women. There should be a modern market for every district without a modern market.”
He added that they will solve the market problem in this country like they have done with Agenda 111 to make sure that every district gets a hospital to provide access to health care.
“We have already solved the problem where some districts don’t have hospitals with Agenda 111 and that is what we have been doing since we came to power. Every district without road equipment has been solved with DRIP,” Dr. Bawumia said while addressing voters in a viral video sighted by Happy News.
