President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated Supreme Court Judge, Justice Anin Yeboah, as the new Chief Justice of Ghana.

Anin Yeboah’s name has been forwarded to Speaker of Parliament by Nana Addo as the next Chief Justice to take over from Justice Sophia Akuffo who is retiring at the end of December 2019.

This makes Justice Yeboah the first male Chief Justice to be appointed in 12 years.

This was announced in parliament today by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Joe Osei.

He will be Ghana’s 26th Chief Justice since 1876.

Justice Anin Yeboah is currently the fourth longest-serving Justice of the Supreme Court.

He graduated from the Ghana School of Law in 198 and he was appointed to the Supreme Court by President John Agyekum Kufuor in June 2008.
