Switzerland Super League side FC Zurich have announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
The 21-year-old has joined the club from Hearts of Oak with immediate effect and has signed a contract until the summer of 2026.
Afriyie Barnieh has been the subject of interest from clubs in Africa, Europe, and America following his spell with the Ghana national team at the World Cup in Qatar.
He will be earning around US$12,000 per month in his contract according to reports.
Barnieh has been impressive since joining Hearts of Oak three seasons ago.
The youngster has won one Ghana Premier League title, two FA Cup titles, Super Cup and the 2022 President Cup.
At the national level, he captained Ghana’s U20 team to win both the WAFU and AFCON titles.
He was instrumental in the Black Galaxies qualifying for the 2022 CHAN tournament as the top scorer and also made Ghana’s final squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Barnieh will join FC Zurich after the CHAN tournament.
