Editor of the Informer Newspaper, Andy Kankam, has expressed that the opposition NDC must focus on the “effectiveness of the team” rather than the number of persons in the NDC campaign team.
Speaking on the ‘Editors’ Take’ session of the Happy Morning Show, he told Samuel Eshun, “If you want to unseat the party of the day, you need some policy alternatives. The number of people in the NDC campaign team is twenty-six (26). Numbers don’t really matter. It is about the effectiveness of the team”.
He noted that the focus on numbers rather than effectiveness “brings to fore the occurrences of people using the opportunity to pursue personal agenda, personal interests, flaunting of egos and protecting personal scores”.
He furthered that if the NDC’s campaign team will be successful, it will largely depend on their unity and not on the flaunting of egos.
Exemplifying his point, he motioned that despite the rumours that the flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama and the campaign manager, Joshua Alabi are not in good terms, the party can survive if a good relationship between the two is fostered.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed members of its National Campaign team to facilitate its campaign towards the December 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
