NSA confirms receiving names of athletes to benefit from YEA’s relief fund

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the National Sports Authority (NSA) Charles Amofah has disclosed to Happy Sports that all the Sporting Federations have submitted their list to the body for the COVID-19 relief fund to be given out by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) will spend GH3, 000,000 on a module to financially support 1000 athletes for the next six months.

Each athlete would receive a monthly stimulus package of GH500 for the six months.

Speaking to Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9 FM, he confirmed that over 1000 names have been received and there will be scrutiny to ensure that the right people are going to benefit from the fund.

“All the Federations have submitted their list to the NSA. So we are going to scrutinize it before we submit it to the YEA.

“The list submitted is more than 1000 but we will vet it and ensure that a credible list is submitted.

“By Wednesday we should have a list to submit to the NYA for payments to commence”, he added.
