The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s parliamentray candidate for Okaikwei South, Ms Dakoa Newman, has been declared the winner for the parliamentary seat of the constituency.
Ms Dakoa Newman polled a total of 40,393 to deafeat NDC’s Abraham Kotey Neequaye in the parliamentary race as the latter polled only 26,019 votes.
Prior to contesting on the ticket of the NPP, she beat off competition from the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Ahmed Arthur and the Chairman of the National Theatre board, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Ofori-Atta, after polling 440 votes in the primaries.
