NPPDecides: Chaos erupts at Ablekuma North NPP primaries as imposter attempts to vote

Ablekuma North’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries took a bizarre turn when a non-delegate tried to cast a ballot, causing mayhem at the polls.

The situation intensified as angry delegates pursued the imposter, narrowly missing him in the process.

According to an eyewitness account from one of the delegates, the individual in question had obtained a delegate’s tag from someone else, attempting to use it to participate in the voting process.

The organizers, upon suspicion, questioned the authenticity of the non-delegate’s status, leading to a confirmation check through the tag and the official delegates’ album.

“He’s not a delegate. Someone passed his tag to him to come and vote. We confirmed from the tag and that wasn’t him. We checked again in the album and we couldn’t confirm his name. We brought him outside, and he bolted. Someone definitely gave it to him because it’s obvious he has been sent. The tags have the names, profile picture, and the polling area of the delegate,” explained a delegate in a narration to happyghana.com.

The incident has raised concerns among party faithful about the possibility of foul play and attempts to manipulate the voting process. The tags, designed to include detailed information about the delegate, were intended to prevent such unauthorized access.

The delegate further emphasized the organized nature of the attempted deception, suggesting a deliberate effort to influence the outcome of the primaries.
