The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced the formation of a nine-member committee tasked with reviewing recommendations from the Professor Mike Oquaye-led Elections Review Committee report.

The Oquaye Committee was established to investigate the reasons behind the party’s loss, which included a significant reduction in parliamentary seats and the presidency.

Speaking at a press briefing, the NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasized the need for constitutional amendments to address gaps identified in the report.

“The National Council accepted the report, but there are several steps we need to take as a party. We need to sit down and deliberate on the report. There will be a need for a constitutional amendment”.

He assured the public that the party would communicate the report’s contents and recommendations in due course.

Frimpong Koduah also cautioned party members against speculative comments, urging patience as the committee begins its work.

Additionally, the NPP’s leadership has pledged to engage with grassroot supporters and rebuild trust as part of broader efforts to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
