The Bono Regional Deputy Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Adjei has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of being the only political party in Ghana’s history to produce two “content creators” as their flagbearer and running mate. Adjei specifically targeted Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), claiming that since their nomination, they have failed to present any innovative idea or concrete policies, instead focusing on creating social media content to entertain Ghanaians.
Adjei criticized Dr. Bawumia’s campaign message, saying he is merely asking Ghanaians to give him the “steer” to drive the country to the “promised land”, a phrase he believes lacks substance. He also ridiculed NAPO’s approach, saying he is busy singing King Paluta’s song, creating content for Ghanaians to laugh, rather than addressing the pressing issues facing the nation. Adjei questioned the duo’s ability to lead the country, given their lack of initiative and vision.
In contrast, Adjei praised the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, and his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, for presenting numerous initiatives that would benefit the country, such as the proposed 24-hour economy, which he described as a game-changer.
He emphasized that Mahama and Opoku-Agyemang have a proven track record, making them the best candidates to lead the country out of its current economic crises, high unemployment, inflation, and rising dollar. Adjei urged Ghanaians to reject the NPP’s “content creators” and choose the NDC’s experienced and visionary leaders.
