NPP details Dr. Bawumia’s plans for jobs, healthcare, and social interventions

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has stated that the party’s vision under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia focuses on addressing critical national issues, including healthcare access, job creation, and enhanced social interventions.

These initiatives, he said are designed to significantly improve the living standards of Ghanaians and drive sustainable development.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, November 27, he revealed that in healthcare, the Bawumia-led administration plans to expand infrastructure to ensure improved access, particularly in rural areas. This includes the completion of Agenda 111 hospitals, the construction of additional CHPS compounds to boost primary healthcare. The strategy aims to increase National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) enrollment among underserved communities while channeling investments into healthcare services and infrastructure to bridge existing gaps.

On job creation, he said the blueprint targets the generation of millions of employment opportunities through entrepreneurship, industrialization, and digitalization and specific focus will be placed on ICT skills development and leveraging global IT job markets. The plan he said promises to empower Ghanaian youth to access high-paying tech jobs locally without the need to relocate. Signature initiatives such as One District, One Factory and other industrial programs will further contribute to reducing unemployment and fostering economic growth.

He noted that the social intervention agenda under Dr. Bawumia also includes expanding the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) program and increasing coverage of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) initiative to support vulnerable groups. These programs aim to ensure equitable access to education and social safety nets for those in need.

According to Mr.Ahiagbah, the policies represent a transformative vision for Ghana that hinges on deliberate investment and focused leadership. He urged Ghanaians to endorse Dr. Bawumia to realize these ambitious plans.
