NPP Dep. General Secretary appeals to Asamoah Gyan to lower demands ahead of Kotoko move

The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahene, has said that the Ghanaian players willing to make a return to the Ghana Premier League after their stints in Europe should lower their demands to make the clubs easier to sign them.

Obiri Boahene made this suggestion in response to the reported move by Asante Kotoko to sign former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

The reports indicate that Asante Kotoko must cough out $400,000 before they can sign the former Black Stars captain who is currently without a club after leaving Indian side North East United.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy 98.9FM he said, “I will appeal to Asamoah Gyan. Those players who have played abroad and have made money when they want to come home and play in the local league they should be a little bit considerate. The Brazilians have been doing it. Recently with Daniel Alves. They should also consider the entertainment aspect of it”.

Asamoah Gyan has made it openly he would like to join the Porcupine Warriors before he retires from football.

The astute lawyer has also thrown his weight behind Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku’s administration.

“I believe in Kurt Okraku’s administration to succeed. We must all support him to succeed. I am all for Kurt. He must make sure he doesn’t repeat those mistakes made in the past”, he said.
