President Akufo-Addo says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not in the least bit prepared for 2024 election, placing the ruling party in a comfortable lead.
“We thought of our numerous projects while in opposition. We thought of our flagship programs in opposition and that’s why we’ve been able to achieve what we have. I want us to ask what idea has emerged form the NDC in these 5 years in opposition to help our progress as a nation. The answer is zero not one single idea. What all this means is that the 2024 election is for us to lose,” he said.
Addressing delegates at the party’s conference in the Ashanti Region, the President urged them (party faithful) to conduct themselves properly and remain united.
He assured a level playing field in choosing the party’s next leader and executives.
“When that is done and we unite, I want to be able on the 7th January 2025 go to the Black Stars Square in Accra and hand over the mantle of gov’t to the next NPP presidential candidate,” he declared.
President Akufo-Addo noted that the break the 8 agenda “is not for ourselves but for Ghana. We need a secure period in office to make irreversible change for the country.”
